Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, is a city in Waukesha County located where I-94 and state highways 16 and 67 meet. It has about 18,200 residents. The name comes from the Potawatomi Coo-no-mo-wauk which may mean "waterfall", or "place where the river falls", or "beautiful waters", or "beaver dam" (which would seem strange to residents of Beaver Dam), or "beaver dam woods", or "river of lakes".
