Neshkoro, Wisconsin, is a village in Marquette County along state highway 73 about 10 miles south of Wautoma. It has about 430 residents.
The origins of the name are questionable. It may be a corruption of a Winnebago word meaning "salt" or "sweet water". It may have been coined from Nash and Kora, early settlers. It may (and I like this one best) have come into being from the poor handwriting of an early postmaster. It is said that, when he submitted the name Nashborough, it came back from Madison approved as Neshkoro.
