Mosinee, Wisconsin, is a city in Marathon County at the intersection of I-39 / US 51 and state highway 153 about 10 miles south of
Wausau. It has about 4500 residents. It was first called Little Bull Falls but was renamed for Chief Mosinee because the postmaster deemed the original name too vulgar for ladies to write on their letters.
