Gilmanton, Wisconsin, is located in Buffalo County at the intersection of state highways 88 and 121 about 8 miles south of Mondovi, which is on US Highway 10. It probably has about 130 residents.

Gilmanton (or, at least, the township of Gilmanton) was first called Mann's Mill after Joel Mann. Then it was known as Loomis Settlement after the Loomis family. The current name comes from Samuel Gilman.
