Forest Junction 848

Forest Junction, Wisconsin, is located in Calumet County at the intersection of US Highway 10 and state highway 32 / 57 about 15 miles east of Appleton. It has a population of about 1300 (up from just 600 ten years earlier).

According to The Romance of Place Names in Wisconsin, a Mrs. Charlotte Quentin owned land platted as the village of Forest. On the opposite side of the street, George Baldwin platted Baldwin. After two railroads crossed in the area, the post office declared the village's official name to be Forest Junction. The railroad lines no longer exist as such. They are now the Fox River Trail and the Friendship State Trail. (The forest doesn't really exist anymore either.)
