Fennimore, Wisconsin, is a city in Grant County at the intersection of US Highway 18 and US Highway 61 about 30 miles east of Prairie du Chien, which is on the Mississippi River just north of where it meets the Wisconsin River. Fennimore has about 2500 people.
Early settler John Fennimore disappeared during the Black Hawk War. Later residents in the area decided to name the settlement Fennimore Center after him. The name was later shortened to Fennimore.
