Cambria 703 |
Cambria, Wisconsin, is located in Columbia County along state highway 146 just south of the intersection of 146 and 33 about 20 miles east of Portage. It has about 750 residents.
The village was originally called Langdon's Mills or Langdon's Saw Mill after either John or Samuel Langdon (or both?), brothers who seemingly both owned (or were at least involved with) the saw mill. After about 5 years, the Langdons defaulted on a loan to James Bell who then named the town Bellville. When he left the area, local Welsh settlers renamed it Cambria after their homeland.
