Plain, Wisconsin, is a village in Sauk County along state highway 23 about 40 miles northwest of Madison. It has about 760 residents.
It was first named Cramers Corners after Solomon, John, and Adam Cramer. Later it became known as Logtown. It was finally named Plain at the suggestion of a priest who said it reminded him of Maria (von) Plain in Austria.
