Hustler

Hustler 802
Hustler, Wisconsin, is a village in Juneau County a couple miles southwest of I-90 / 94 and about 15 miles southeast of Tomah. It has about 190 residents.

The origin of the name is somewhat dubious. It seems there was a Hustler Street in the settlement even before the town was named. It may be so named because the people were hustlers; that is, full of energy and push, or they may have been the kind of folks you first think of when you hear about hustlers. One account says that, when the time came to officially name the site, someone submitted Hustler as a joke. In any case, all other submissions were already in use elsewhere in the state, so Hustler it was.
