Hurley, Wisconsin, is a city in Iron County at the intersection of US 51 and state highway 77 along the Montreal River which forms part of the border between Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. US Highway 2 runs just north of town. Hurley is often mentioned in the same breath as Ironwood, Michigan, (as in, Ironwood-Hurley) which is just across the Montreal River. Hurley has about 1400 residents. It was named for M. A. Hurley.
