Burlington L-1 TS |
Burlington, Wisconsin, lies mostly in Racine County with a little bit - the airport runway - being in Walworth County. The Fox River runs through the city and was the source of its original name, Foxville. It was renamed for Burlington, Vermont, by E. D. Putnam.
There are several state highways in the area - 11, 36, 83, and 142 - most of which now go around the town. I suspect that most of them used to run through the city. About 11,000 people reside here.
